Diocesan Insurance Policy and Information

All diocesan parishes with full-time clergy provide Church Pension
Group health coverage for those clergy. This is part of the Letter of
Agreement between the clergy person and the parish vestry.

Any parish employee who works twenty hours a week or more is eligible
for health and dental coverage. Individual parishes determine whether
they will pay for this coverage or whether the employees will be
offered the coverage at their own expense.

When parishes insure their clergy through Church Pension Group AND
offer to pay health insurance premiums for lay employees, lay
employees must also be insured through Church Pension Group. The
exception would be that employees who are insured through spousal
coverage or military benefits do no need to change their coverage.

Lay Employees can visit the Church Pension Fund site for Lay Employees for more information.

Active Clergy can visit the Church Pension Fund site for Active Clergy for more information.

Questions on insurance for active clergy or lay employees should be directed to Kate Garica at Evans House.

Questions on insurance for retired clergy should be directed to the Rev. Dr. Bob Copenhaver.
