The Standing Committee continues to remember with affection and appreciation the Rev. Chris Roussell, who served as Standing Committee president during the first months of our bishop transition.

We welcome the Rev. Brian Hutcherson, deacon in the diocese currently serving at St. John’s, Waynesboro, to finish the remaining time of Chris’s term on the Standing Committee (which comes to close in January 2026).

Kristen Hester, longtime Executive Assistant to the Bishop in our diocese, is now bringing her gifts to two dioceses, continuing her vital work on DioSWVA’s staff, including supporting the Standing Committee as ecclesiastical authority – and she is also continuing to support Bishop Mark Bourlakas in his new call in the Diocese of Virginia, serving as his Executive Assistant on the Diocese of Virginia staff.

We are grateful for the presence and work of Brian and Kristen in our diocese and in the Church!
