Pooled Investments and Stewardship

Diocesan Pooled Investments

The Diocesan Pooled Investment fund is stewarded by the Trustees of the Funds on behalf of the Diocese. The Trustees oversee the Diocese’s investment manager and investment policy. Revisions to the Investment Policy Statement are ratified by the Diocesan Executive Board. Diocesan Staff provide administrative support, including managing bookkeeping and accounting functions. Additional details about how the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia’s Pooled Investment Fund works are outlined in the Description of the Pooled Investment Portfolio.

For additional information, contact the Rev. Canon Mark Furlow.

Stewardship Resources

The lay and clergy leadership of the Trustees of the Funds board generates and provides stewardship resources for parishes in the Diocese. From time to time, the Trustees partner with other committees and stakeholders to provide opportunities to raise awareness about stewardship theology and practice.

Key leaders attend Project Resource training offered by the College for Bishops. In turn, they offer consultations on annual stewardship canvases, major gift-giving, and planned giving. Additional collaborations with The Episcopal Church Foundation occur on the topic of planned giving. An overview of Project Resource can be found on the College for Bishops website.

Local diocesan leaders trained to discuss stewardship and the topics connected to Project Resource can be called upon to visit and consult parishes in Southwestern Virginia. If you are interested in a stewardship consultation, please fill out a Stewardship Consultation form.
