Who We Are

What We Believe

It is the activity of our gracious and loving God to draw all Creation into communion. From the first moments of Creation, when God breathed into the darkness and said “Let there be light,” the Holy Spirit has been at work drawing the world into wholeness.

God the Word became incarnate in Jesus to draw people into communion. God the Holy Spirit enlivens the church to go out and make communion with its neighbors. Wherever differences come into relationship in justice, peace, and love, there the mission of God to make communion in the world is at hand.

The work of the church is to pray, to make disciples, and to act in joining God in the mission of communion.

In Southwestern Virginia, becoming a “missional” church means being a church that goes out to call people into right relationships of mutual well-being following Jesus’ Way of Love.
