Youth at Convention (Y@C)
Y@C is the signature event for diocesan youth each year. During the last weekend of January, youth from across the diocese gather in Roanoke for worship, fellowship, and service in the local community.
Registration opens in mid-December.
Fall Youth Event (FYE)
Middle and high school youth gather for a weekend together at a local camp or outdoor venue. The weekend includes time for worship, fellowship, and outdoor activities, as we commune with God in his natural world.
Registration opens in late September or early October.
Spring Youth Event (SYE)
Middle and high school youth gather for a traditional camp-style weekend at one of our local facilities. The weekend includes small group time, worship, and fellowship.
Registration opens in late March for this mid-April event.
Other Events
Confirmation Retreat
Any middle or high school youth standing for confirmation is encouraged to attend this formation weekend during Lent. Camp Bethel is our host for the weekend, which offers the perfect spot for inside and outside spiritual development.
Registration opens in mid-January.
Summer Mission Trips
The diocese sponsors summer mission trips for middle and high school youth each year to serve at our diocesan mission site, Grace House. This week-long event gives youth the opportunity to immerse themselves in service in the Appalachia community surrounding Grace House.
High school youth rotate between Grace House and an out-of-state adventure every other year. Middle school youth serve at Grace House each summer.
Trip dates are released in January.
Youth Week and Winter Lights
Youth Week and Winter Lights are not diocesan youth events, but ones hosted each June and December at Kanuga, the Diocese of Western NC’s Camp and Conference Center. Dates and registration information can be found at https://www.kanuga.org/.
